If you are reading this then you have probably already thought about trying a kickboxing class. Maybe you have heard about the health benefits (improved strength/cardio/flexibility), or maybe you just have a stressful life and just want to hit something.

I was there once too. I had always wanted to try kickboxing, but the thought of walking into a class full of sweaty dudes that have been boxing since they were teenagers really wasn’t my thing. It’s hard enough to pick up a new sport as an adult, never mind dealing with all those other insecurities at the same time!

I wanted a great workout. I wanted an hour in my day when all I needed to focus on was myself; hitting new goals, gaining strength, and feeling a little bad-ass.

If you liked your Tae-Bo video’s from the 90’s our kickboxing classes will be like that but 1000 times harder. Why? Well we actually use pads and gloves. You will be hitting and holding Thai Pads throughout class so you get a lot of resistance training (e.g. muscle building). In fact holding the pads is just as exhausting as the actual hitting! And don't worry if you struggled with rhythm - we aren't a 'cardio-kickboxing' class so we don't hit to the beat of the music either.

Here’s the thing, we all THINK we are more fit than we actually are. After all, how hard can a 2 or 3 minute round actually be? Let me assure you, it’s HARD! Even so, people still keep coming back for more. Why? Because at the same time your classes will be Exciting, Empowering, and most importantly Effective!

If you enjoy your workouts you are more likely to succeed with your fitness goals. Choose a sport or class that you LIKE. Something that you LOOK FORWARD TO. Let me assure you, kicking things can be addicting! (Who has the time to run on a boring treadmill anyway...).

I always tell my instructors to make the classes hard. After all, you can always make them easier if you need to (taking breaks, getting water, easier combinations, etc). However, people rarely choose to make it more difficult (that’s what we’re there for!).
