FAQ Foxy Kickboxing women only fitness

a

I have never done kickboxing before, is that okay ?

Yes! We have lots of beginners in our classes. Your instructor will show you proper hitting technique and all the different hits you will need to know.

If you have more experience, your instructor can add extra moves to your combos to make it more challenging. Remember, the more you put into each class, the better workout you will get!

What does it cost ?

Our sessions are 6 weeks in duration and cost $95 plus GST. This includes your required hand-wraps that you will pick up at your first class.

We also offer a group discount for 4 or more ladies who are registering for the same class. Save $12.50 each PLUS it includes your Foxy hand-wraps

Do you have a discount if I have taken a Foxy class before ?

Yes! We love to reward our returning Foxy ladies. Simply enter the returning student promo-code and you will pay only $85 for your session. You can get the code by emailing your past instructor. Please note, we will not issue refunds if you forget to enter the promo-code during your checkout.

Do you have a discount if I want to register a group of ladies ?

Yes! If you have a group of 4 or more ladies who are registering for the same class, you will each pay only $82.50 for your registration. Your 'team captain' must register and pay for all of the ladies during the checkout on the SAME order transaction. Wraps are included as a bonus for anyone in the group who needs them.

Can I register in-person at the first class ?

All registrations must be completed in advanced of the class start; we do not take registrations on-site. You can pay by Visa, MasterCard, or Interac Online (BMO, Scotiabank, RBC, & TD Banks) through our website, or ask about our email money transfer option.

Is there any other way to register without using a credit card ?

Yes! If you do not have a credit card, we also have INTERAC Online available on our website (BMO, Scotiabank, RBC, & TD Banks). You will see the option when you are registering during the checkout process.

We do not accept cash or cheque for registrations.

What happens if I have to miss a class ?

No problem! You are allowed to make up one missed class per session. It needs to be pre-arranged and must be completed within your classes start and end dates. Please see our Make-Up Class Request form to schedule a makeup class.

What are wrist wraps and why are they important ?

Wraps are very long strips of cloth that you wrap around your wrists and knuckles to protect them from the impact of hitting. Wraps are highly recommended to give more support and protection to fighters' wrists. The other benefit of wraps is that you can take them home and wash them between sessions!

Wraps are included with your registration fee for new students your instructor will have them for you at your first class. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early so she can show you how to put them on. Click here to see how to wrap your Wrist Wraps.

Do I need my own gloves ?

No, you don't need your own gloves as we have enough equipment for everyone who is registered in the class. Some people prefer to bring their own gloves so they don't have to share, or you may want a different weight of glove (we use 14oz in class). If you would like to purchase gloves, we sell gloves for a great price in our Merchandise Section

What do I need to bring to class ?

Please bring a yoga mat (if you don't have one bring a big towel - it's for when we do abs/stretching so you won't be right on the floor), a water bottle and make sure you have proper indoor footwear (something that you would wear to a gym not fashion runners or hiking boots). You might want to bring a sweat towel too. In advance of your class you will also need to fill out our

Online Waiver Form

We provide all the pads and gloves, however, if you would like to bring your own we sell gloves for a great price in our Merchandise Section

What are the classes like ?

  • They are fun! Who doesn't like to let loose and hit something once in a while?
  • Expect it to be challenging! If you want something easy stay at home and do your Tae Bo video from the 90's.
  • Each class is different. Sometimes we will incorporate a circuit, sometimes it will be all pad work. We like to keep it interesting!
  • It is a full body workout.

We're looking for people who come with an open mind and are willing to put in the effort to sweat.

What is your refund policy ?

We understand that medical issues may arise that are beyond your control, which prevents you from attending classes. If you need to cancel your registration due to an injury/illness please email info@foxykickboxing.ca and we can provide you with a credit for a future session. Please note that we do not extend credits to scheduling conflicts or missed classes.

Do you offer private sessions ?

No, we do not currently offer private classes; however, some of our instructors are great personal trainers and might have openings available for new clients. This is not done through Foxy Kickboxing so all rates and details are determined by the individual trainer.

We are happy to put you in contact with an instructor in your area. Please send us an email through the Contact Us section for more information. Make sure to include your city, neighbourhood, fitness goals, and experience so we can match you with a suitable instructor. Typically personal training sessions will be approximatley $60-$90 per hour.

What is the minimum age for your classes ?

Participants need to be at least 16 years old. All students who are minors (under 18) will need a special waiver form filled out by their parents or guardian. A copy of this form is available at the link below:

Minor Waiver Form

How long are classes ?

Classes are one hour in duration, once per week. Our sessions are 6 weeks long.

Do I need to be in shape to join ?

No, not at all! At Foxy Kickboxing all fitness levels are welcome. We're not looking for the person who looks the best, talks the loudest or arrives in the best shape. We've all started somewhere!

The classes will be HARD, but you can take breaks when you need to. If you are more fit, we would expect you to hit harder or faster (or give you harder resistance options between rounds).

How do I know my order was processed ?

You will receive an email with an order ID on it, BUT UNTIL you have received a second email with your receipt your order has not been finalized. It can take up to 1 business days for us to process orders and for you to receive your receipt.

If you cancel the order while it is in progress, or hit the back button, your payment may be cancelled. If this happens, please contact us (toll free 1-888-974-3699 ext.0) to complete your registration.

If we see that your order did not complete, we will call the contact number listed to finalize the registration. We can only hold your spot in class for up to 24 hours before we cancel the order and put the spot back online for anyone to purchase.

What are your Boot Camp Classes?

What are your Boot Camp Classes? Our Foxy Force classes are high intensity interval training classes meant to compliment your kickboxing. There is no hitting or pad work in these classes we train using your bodyweight and our workout belts. Think lots of pushups, squats, plyometrics, abdominals, etc. These classes are tough, but a lot of fun too! We push you to work to your limits and raise the bar each class

Is once a week enough?

Is once a week enough? We know women can be super busy balancing work, families, and social commitments. We have designed our program to be once per week so that anyone can fit a class into their busy schedules.

If you are looking to really get fit and challenge yourself, you can sign up for two (or even three) classes per week (kickboxing, cross-training, or combination of both!). The more you can commit to the classes the better your results will be!

I have knee/hip/joint problems, can I still do the class?

I have knee/hip/joint problems, can I still do the class? The first person you should ask is your doctor! They know your medical history, recovery, and what your fitness program should look like.

Many of our moves can be modified for common injuries, and your instructor can always give you something else to do if there are certain moves you need to avoid. If you have knee problems, you can always air hit (making the motion without making contact with the pads). We want everyone to be able to work to their abilities, so as long as you show up and work hard you will make your instructor happy!

What is yourMerchandise Refund policy ?

Foxy Kickboxing does not offer any returns or exchanges on merchandise at this time.

Where do you ship to ?

Foxy Kickboxing ships within Alberta, B.C, and Saskatchewan with flat rate shipping charges

What does shipping cost?

(Alberta = $11.50, British Columbia = $14.50, Saskatchewan = $14.50). The shipping charge will be added during your checkout process.

Who do you use to ship my order?

All merchandise is shipped through Canada Post and will arrive within 3 business days.

I dont have a friend to join class with me, is that okay?

Absolutely! You dont need to sign up with a partner to attend our classes. The instructor will pair you up with someone for any partner work, and there is a good chance that you wont work with the same person at each class anyways. It is great to get to work with different women as everyone has different strengths and weaknesses.

How do I register for more than one class at a time?

If you want to register for more than one class per week, simply add multiple classes to your order to process everything at once. Select the first class that you want to sign up for and it will take you to your shopping cart. From this screen you can either choose to Proceed to Checkout (on the bottom right hand side of the screen), or Continue Shopping (on the bottom left hand side of the screen). To add another class, choose to Continue Shopping and you can pick the other class(es) that you want to register for.

If you need to go back to your shopping cart at any time you can click the Cart button on the top header

What does pro-rated mean?

Pro-rated means that the class has been shortened from a six week class to either a 3/4/5 week class due to a scheduling conflict, and the price has been adjusted accordingly.

Im getting an error/server message when trying to register

If you are using an older web browser, our online store is not able to process your order (e.g. Internet Explorer 6, 7, or 8). Try again using a newer version, or a different browser (Firefox and Google Chrome work great).

If you see a red banner at the top of our site that says 'please update your web browser' you will not be able to register online.

Also, most Safari users will have difficulties as well because of the Java/Flash compatibility. You will need to either switch to a different browser, or update your settings to allow for Java/Flash on the Foxy Kickboxing website.

Can I try a class before I register for a session?

Unfortunately due to class size restrictions and equipment limitations we cannot have people 'drop-in' to try our classes. We do schedule Trial Classes a few times throughout the year at select locations that you can attend if you really want to try it before you register for a session.

To get notifications on trial classes in your area, please make sure to 'like' our Facebook page or sign up to receive our Fanclub newsletter.

Trial Classes only happen a few times each year, so if you are seriously thinking about taking a class just register for a session....it's only a 6-week commitment and we think you will love it!
